Requirements TO OBTAIN YOUR FM-T (TEMPORARY VISA)
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND FOLLOW EACH STEP: It is essential to first obtain an FM-T (temporary visa), good for 180 multiple entry days, and it's obtaineable at either Tijuana or Otay border on the Mexican side, in order to fulfill the current requirements to obtain a final FM-2/3 a). You will need a current U.S. passport. b). You need to pay a fee of $ 23 at the border. c). An appointment is essential to fulfill all legal requirements. To make this transaction go more smoothly, we will need your "Power of Attorney" Remember that renewals can be filed one month before the expiration. (This is to avoid paying penalties.)
IMPORTANT NOTE: If your first FM-3 has expired and you need one for another 5 year period, you need to take a new set of photos. Remember, these are special size photos and we recommend a place at Rosarito that takes the correct ones We want to emphasize that an appointment is required to handle any NEW or renewal application (s), way before the expiration date (at least 30 days) to comply with local immigration rules.
